Hey mom! It’s Mags. My life in Pawsburg is full of frisbee games, mountain runs & kebabs, but also dreadful sparkling water baths! Oh, and I might be living out the olive theory daily with my veggie hating tendencies. Miss you! Love, Magnolia.
The Olive Theory. You familiar with it? It’s a notion of contraries attracting, right? Like, you hate olives, and I love them. It makes for an enchanting twist in this oh-so-natural world. You see, my girl, Magnolia, she goes a little further. Who cares about olives when you’ve got the entirety of the vegetable kingdom to despise? The dog has a tragicomic farce with peas, beans, and the colossal broccoli that could summon on par, a Pinteresque silence, unbroken for hours.
The touch of sunlight filtering through the rustling leaves of Collie Canyon first greeted us, turning the morning dew into crystalline drops shimmering with spectral hues. Ah, Magnolia. The wisp of the wind through her brindle marks and that fraction of white on her chest had me bewitched for what seemed eternity. Her brown eyes flickering between shyness and curiosity captured my soul in a never-ending drama of friendship.
A game of Frisbee was all it took to change our relationship into an act of hysterical joy. Much like a tennis player’s forehand, she struck the Frisbee out of the air with a paw punch, her childish pleasure echoing loudly around Western Labradoodle Lake.
A run towards Silver Siberian Summit before sunset with her best pal, Kemper, was unlikely a masterpiece theatre, filled with their shared playful cavorts and colliding personalities. Could a place resemble a paradise more than this ever-engaging Pawsburg?
Later, we fulfilled our rousing appetites at K9 Kebabs. The taste of their kebabs always remained mysterious, but Magnolia devoured it like a connoisseur, convinced of its essence. Our last stop – Paws On The Grill – a love at first sight situation for Magnolia.
Our shopping expeditions were somewhat rare, yet notably remarkable. Canine Couture Clothing and an unexpected visit to The Howling Husky Hardware Store made us realize us dogs quite fancied the world of humans.
Yet, her dread of sparkling water baths frankly puzzled me. Every earnest word from her human was met with her folded ears and those pleading eyes – an absurdist’s delight in the form of doggy dread.
Do you believe in soulmates? Well, a dog like Magnolia can make you ponder for a while. Here is a dog that made me fall paws over tail in love amidst amusing scenarios of our everyday life in Pawsburg. We were utterly different, but as they say, it’s the olive theory.
This is it, my friend – the tale of my love in this quaint town where dogs rejoice in their freedom and camaraderie. Therein settles the comic romance of my life, and bear in mind, it doesn’t get any more fascinating than a day in the life with Magnolia.
The End.
