One evening in the heart of Pawsburg, I found myself standing tall at the edge of the astonishing South Poodle Pond. Moonlight shimmered on the crystalline water while a beautiful serenity floating around. My insatiable sense of curiosity piqued by this mismatch, I decided to hike down towards North Chihuahua Castle, with Daisy by my side.

“Oh, Daisy, don’t you just love the thrill of Pawsburg after dark?” I murmured, a wistful glaze to my eyes while glancing down at my faithful companion. Daisy wagged her tail in agreement, her dark eyes glowing in the moonlight with the same curiosity that I felt.

From here, the castle looked lifeless, like a desolate shell but there was a strange pull to it. A pull too strong to resist. So, Daisy and I sprinted through the castle, her little body bouncing around with pure joy.

As midnight chimed from the town clock, we found ourselves in the East Pug Palace, an aura of magic flickering across the grand façade. Just as Daisy was contemplating a meat taco from Pup ‘n’ Go Taco Joint, the palace lights flickered on, and the air warmed, a relentless power beckoning us into the cavernous grand hall.

“Wonder where the court jester is…” She probably thought. Instead, we were greeted by none other than Rocky the Dog himself! Although a bit surprised that Rocky, our neighborhood mate, was here, Daisy ambled up to him for a quick catch-up apparently forgetting about our little adventure. Or so I thought…

“Now that you’re here,” Rocky began his story, “You must know about the Hound of the Palace,” his breathed heavily, and the glow in his eyes turned fiery.

Indeed, a chilling legend of a supernatural hound inhabiting the castle ruins we’d visited earlier sent a shiver through my spine. But Daisy did not flinch. She gazed at Rocky, her eyes attentive and serious, ready to face the unknown for the sake of Pawsburg.
