Tank PawWord Story
“Morning routine nailed! BTW, broke Frodo out of the pound. Donkey, Bella, and I nailed it! Now, just chilling at the Shih Tzu Stadium, reminiscing about the day. Life in Spencerville rocks. Catch you later, homeslice! – Bubba 🐾”
“Rise and shine, Spencerville!” I bark, my grumpy, bulldog face screwed into a joyous announcement. I, Tank, the old English Bulldog, am up for yet another day in this idyllic town.
My morning routine, as you might know, always starts at Bark and Bites with a human-like existence’s best comfort – breakfast. ‘No spinach for the enormous love of dog,’ I emphasise, catching a cheeky lick of my chops when the plate of juicy steak dances before my eyes. And yes, a sip of that bitter beer for my hankering palate.
After breakfast, it’s city watching on the Shepherd Skyline. Frodo and Bella are usually up there, their tails wagging up a mini cyclone. We sit on the elevated, lush grass, guffawing at the wobbling Pugs meandering around the Pug Palace. Ah, delightful sights of Spencerville!
Later on, there’s a mini adventure scheduled for the day – an infiltration of the infamous local animal shelter, you heard it right. Now, before your hackles rise, it shouldn’t concern you, dear friend. It’s all a farce! Frodo, the spunky Jack Russel, has landed himself in trouble. A naughty bout of digging landed him at Pawsitively Purrfect Pet Store, and before you can blink, he’s being carted off to the stubborn shelter.
“Dare we break him out without a plan?” Bella, ever the melodramatic Bichon Frise, quakes at the audacious idea. But then again, here I am – the infamous Tank who vaulted over an 8 ft fence in his youthful days. This? This feels like another walk in our favourite sunny meadow.
The ‘Prison Break’ commences with an intensity that only we, Spencerville pets, can muster. My sister Lulu and I can barely suppress our excitement as we burrow underneath the shelter’s towering fence. Conquering hurdles are sort of our thing, you see.
As dusk settles on Spencerville, we pull off the ‘break,’ had our belly filled with laughter, wagged our tails for our returning hero, Frodo, and promised Bella we’ll lay low on the mischief for a while.
So as night falls on another day in Spencerville, I curl up in my cosy corner in the Shih Tzu Stadium, stirring dreams of red rubber balls and swimming in an endless pool. It’s just a short skip to sleep and looking forward to another day in this pet haven. It’s a reassuring comfort, this life in Spencerville, and we wait, knowing that one day we will be reunited with our owners. Appreciating every moment here, each and every bark and shrill, until then… For, Spencerville is more than just a place. It’s a state of heart. An echoing bark in the wind. Home to us all!
The End.
