Roxy PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, Spencerville’s sunny as ever. Enjoyed a PB-Cheerios fusion at Pup-Peroni, met my fluffy citizens around town, aced the chess game, did some sunbathing and even tackled those scary vacuum cleaners at defense drills (what a menace!). Wish you were here at the reunion park. Love and tail wags, Roxy Foo-Foo 🐾”
From the moment I opened my eyes, the Spencerville sun already had a strong handshake with the day. I could hear the cheerful birds beckon from the Maltese Meadow. I yawned sprawling across my plush, heated bed, stretching out my paws. Another day, another adventure; welcome to the wild, wild life of Roxy.
After a quick necessary stroll along the Yellow Tan Dalmatian desert (the only time you appreciate yellow sand and red coats aspiring for unity), my stomach began a symphony. It was time to visit the beloved Pup-Peroni. The head chef, a Corgi named Cordon, never cease to surprise me with his culinary concoctions. Today was ‘Peanut Butter-Cheerios Fusion’ an exclusive culinary galaxy I’ve grown fond of, a gastronomic place of solace that seemed to hug my taste buds every time. Well, definitely more appealing than one of our zany candidate’s speeches.
Post breakfast, it was off to check our today’s meetings. Sammy, my esteemed brother, was often lazy, enjoying the serene atmosphere, sunbathing like a true hippie. Me? I was the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense. I oversaw the tickle-me-tough drills at Shih Tzu stadium, helped strategize, how do we up our defenses against our sinister looking vacuum cleaners? They were a menace, making noises that’d make an elephant hide under a mouse. A fluff’s got to do, what a fluff’s got to do!
Then an unhurried stroll around the bustling hot spots of Spencerville. I made it a point to engage with the citizens, the furred inhabitants of this land. A quick stop at Fetch! Toys and Treats, where my hyperactive aides awaited their tennis ball and tug-of-war tutorials. Our next stop was usually Pet Partners Pet Supplies. I needed my chicken nuggets, the all-time favorite treat!
The evening was best part though! Post our usual chess game against the cunning cats council (which I proudly confess, we dogs aced unchallenged), I would find my sunspot, set aside just for me. The chirps and coos from the Maltese Meadow, the whispers of the warm Spencerville wind, the faint snores of the Furred Defense team crumbling into their catnaps, it was magical and mystifying.
And the final, crowning moment? The visiting time at the grand reunion park, each day I wished my beloved mommy would walk out of the mist atop the hill, each day I waited a little longer. One day, she would, she would indeed.
But hey, come rain or shine, feast or famine, bath or no-bath, we doggos ran this blissful pet-paradise, under the benevolent gaze of our human parents, soon to join us in this merry utopia. Another day then, in the hallowed paws and jaws parlors of Spencerville.
Till tomorrow then, humans, goodnight and dog bless!
The End.
