Dolly Bulldog PawWord Story
“Hey Mom, it’s Pumpkin. Just wrapped up a wild day at the Furrlympics. Ruff competition but The Pawsburgh Prowlers aced it! Guess what? I even managed to fetch Rishi the Fishy mid-race and still won. My life here sure is pawsome! Lots of tail wags, but never seem to tire. That’s the Dolly Bulldog way! 🦴🐾”
“There’s breaking news, from the town they called Pawsburgh, my home away from home. This wasn’t your ordinary four-legged haven, it was an oasis after a ruff day in the human world. My destination today? The legendary, “Furrlympic Games” at Lower Golden Gate Gardens. The adrenaline fuelled joyride that showcases the spirit of an athlete hidden in every scruffy tail, wagging with excitement. Yep, just another slice of my not so ordinary life, I’m Dolly.
I woke up, fixed my red and white coat; perfecting the red eye patch, it was game day. I had three golden rules for any important match: ample sleep, a well-calculated breakfast, and a soothing drive around the city.
A stop at The Woofy Bakery was mandatory. Nothing spells pre-game excitement better than a well-cooked hamburger, definitely not a brussel sprout (unless, it was a sprout-looking toy to fetch). Sometimes, I wished the canine world were free of vegetables, healthy but not too delectable. Rule number four anyone?
I shrugged off the momentary whimsy and focused on today’s primary event, the ‘Paws and Tails Relay’. My team, ‘The Pawsburgh Prowlers’ looked strong. We’d been practicing for weeks and were confident in the run up. I glanced towards the familiar Brindle Boxer from across the beach, his menacing looks were unsettling. We were the underdogs, but spirit and strategy were on our side.
The whistle blew, the crowd barked, and we rushed towards the finish line. It was all a blur, till I heard a high pitch yelp and saw Rishi the Fishy, my favorite toy, lying in the track. Between victory and my favorite toy, I chose… both. In a split second decision, I lunged, grabbed Rishi mid-air and crossed the finish line; gasping, victorious.
Visibly shocked, the audience applauded in unison, as I panted “Games aren’t just about speed, but judging the moment right. Today, we’ve proven that we’re the smartest dogs in town, not the quickest.” It was a triumphant end to another day in Pawsburgh.
Life as Dolly Bulldog is unique, full of adventures and surprises. Making memories out of the ordinary with my quirky personality and friendliness that wins not just games, but hearts too! As I retired for the day, I bore in mind, ‘Always pack your day with adventure, because that’s the Dolly Bulldog’s way!”
The End.
