My paws pad softly on Maltese Meadow’s plush grass, warm under the afternoon sun. But the pleasantries of the day must wait. Today, my loyalties are put to the test.

“I’ll tell ya, I’m not convinced about this, Gilbert,” I grumble, sinking my teeth into my trusty white bone, my nerves compelling me to slobber more than any other day.

These Snack Snatchers hide around Spencerville and it’s their job to confiscate our treats, putting us out of the game. Whether they like it or not, Gilbert and Zelda, we’re a team.

As I glance around Spencerville, my pals at every corner, my confidence wavers. Every pet in town is there, from the flightiest terrier to the laziest lab. This isn’t just a talk in the park – this is the ultimate canine challenge. The prize is more than just pup-eroni, it’s pride.

“Listen, Zelda, Gilbert, we’ve got our strengths. I might hate ear cleaning and snow but I’ve got a nose for sniffing out those Snack Snatchers that can’t be matched!” I announce, puffing out my chest.

Zelda rolls her eyes, “Don’t be too sure about Gilbert’s ‘speed’, Clovis.”
