Vincent PawWord Story
Hey Mom-and-Dad,
Bear Cub here, checking in from sunny Spencerville! Another glorious day in the place they call ‘puppy paradise’. Don’t worry, I’m making lots of friends and eating all the barbeque I can find (and finally pickles without any grumbles!).
Tell Buddha, my favorite toy is safe and sound. Life here is peaceful, boys at The Barkery sends their love too and Victoria, well, she stubbornly remains the best companion. We share treats and stories. Your old Teddy Bear is pretty good at both!
Every day is a beautiful adventure, yet missing you guys makes it a bit more beautiful.
Miss you too,
Baby
Spencerville woke to a sunny morning as my diligent paws padded over the dew-covered grass. This is the place where we have built lives after our time on earth – where my sister, Princess Victoria, and I found a home to call our own. Quite unlike the previous life, one not so fondly remembered, marked by the constraints of intolerable allergies, loud noises, and isolated places.
Ah, don’t mistake my disdain for the past as ingratitude. It was there I learned loyalty, found my strength, and developed my peculiar dislike for certain foods and places. Now, I live in a town where old age is only a word and any food can be dined upon without a grumble in the stomach.
My home, with its grand edifice and sprawling grounds, sits nestled between the Chihuahua Castle and Fawn Cream Maltese Meadow. A perfect location, close enough to hear the bark of friendly banter from The Barkery and smell the mouthwatering aromas emanating from The Doggy Bagel Deli. A place where bliss and bone treats co-exist, undisturbed by time or nature.
Often I find myself ambling past The Fetching Feline Pet Emporium or Canine Couture Clothing, but today was a venture to the coveted Dog-gone Good BBQ. A place I revered almost as much as my favorable pickle toy back at home.
As I neared the BBQ place, the streets of Spencerville came to life. I see Comet, the golden retriever gorging on a smoked bone from Dog-gone Good BBQ, Bella the petite poodle strutting in her new attire from Canine Couture Clothing, and the capricious Persian cats browsing through The Fetching Feline Pet Emporium.
Life here’s a splendid isolation – a meaningful, enjoyable solitude. However, on days where my brave heart aches a bit more for our once tangible bond, I find solace in Princess Victoria. Nursing a matching sense of loyalty and longing, we often resort to the comforts of our own company. It’s easier this way.
It’s not that we don’t miss our humans, our mom-and-dad. We do. But we understand, patiently awaiting the day we can nuzzle into our favorite spots on the couch alongside them. Until then, I am contented with my adventures around Bulldog Bay, huffing flavorful scents from The Woofy Bakery, and taking comfort in the company of my sister Victoria. We guard, we play, and we continue to wait, on our own terms, and in the embrace of Spencerville where the pain of loss and longing is always undercut by an unseen thread of eternal companionship.
The End.
