Winston PawWord Story
Hey Mom & Dad, it’s Dicki! Had an amazing day in Spencerville with Smilla & Finja, enjoying the sun, feasting at K9 Kebabs & playing at East Bulldog Bay! Still striving to be the best pet here & can’t wait to reunite with you one day. Love & woofs, Dicki 🐾🌞🌊
Listen to the story here.
The sun was gently peeking through the canopy of the Eastern White Westie Woods as I opened my eyes. It was another marvelous day in Spencerville. I’m Winston, the Continental Bulldog with an icepick-shaped white mark who’s made the best in his exciting afterlife.
“Rise and shine, Winston!” chirped Smilla, my faithful Jack Russell companion. “The afterlife is waiting!”
As we made our way to Husky Hill to meet up with our great pal Finja, I couldn’t help but appreciate the anticipation of another day, another chance to strive to be the best pet I could be.
The three of us convened to relish the warmth of the sun and enjoy each other’s company amidst the rolling fields. “I wonder,” mused Finja, a graceful Afghan Hound, “what new adventure awaits us today?”
Our conversation was interrupted by the blaring honks from one of the passing cars on their way to Pupperoni Pizza, a favorite among Spencervillians. Loud noises always irked me, but I reminded myself that even in the afterlife, there was room for growth. I took a deep breath and let the annoyance fade away.
“Well,” Smilla said, “we could always head to K9 Kebabs for a bite and then go explore!”
“Great idea!” I agreed, my perseverance paying off as I summoned my innate stubbornness not to let the car’s honking get under my fur.
We sauntered down to K9 Kebabs, where we were welcomed by the savory aroma of pate, cheese, and chicken hearts. We feasted on our beloved treats, laughing and reminiscing about our favorite escapades together. As our bellies swelled and the sun rose higher in the sky, we boldly declared our next destination: East Bulldog Bay.
Our paws sank into the warm sand as we bounded towards the water, not minding how the waves eagerly lapped at our legs. We swam, splashed and even tried surfing! While we were out in the water, I noticed a small group of cats sunbathing nearby and had to suppress my natural instinct to chase them. I needed to become a better pet, and chasing felines would not put me on that righteous path.
After a fantastic day, we retired to my sacred domain, that plush and comfortable haven known as the sofa.
“Is this the paradise we hoped for, friends?” asked Finja as she snuggled between Smilla and me.
“It’s absolutely perfect–except for the missing affection of our humans, but one day we’ll be reunited,” I reassured my friends. “Until then, we will continue our quest, striving for self-improvement and seeking happiness in our beloved Spencerville!”
With that, we drifted into a peaceful slumber, dreaming of the incredible bond that would one day reconnect us with our loved ones. And as the sun set behind the hills, it became evident that though perfection might be unattainable even in Spencerville, we–Winston, Smilla, and Finja–will continue our journey, pursuing the best versions of ourselves in this doggie’s paradise.
The End.
